Why is My Truck Not Live Tracking in Spec-Rite Online?

What do I do if my truck is tracing live in Spec-Rite even though I know it's driving? There could be a few explanations and we'll evaluate those here. The best place to start is the beginning. The difference between truck showing an Idle status & Driving status, is the master power. The master power refers to the power source running the paint equipment. Only when this is powered on, will the truck show that it is driving.

So if you know you're crew is driving back from a job site, more than likely that power source is off, which would be one explanation as to why you don't see the truck moving in real time. If you've talked to the crew operating the truck in question and they've confirmed the master power is on but you aren't seeing it live on Spec-Rite, please continue reading.

If you have a pigeon data logger, the next step is make sure the pigeon is mounted optimally on top of the driver or operator's cab, with no obstructions and a clear view of the sky. Any coverings placed over the pigeon should removed as it will effect the connectivity.

If you are using a HDVO318 or DL-18, look in the top right of the touch screen to see if there are red X's on any of the cellular or GPS icons. If so, confirm that the cellular and GPS antennas are tightly secured to the back of the data logger. If they are, follow the wires to find both the cell and GPs antenna to ensure it is mounted it the best spot possible. Pictures of the antennas, directions to optimally mount the antennas & cable port identification can be found at the link here on pages 25-27.
