Why Doesn't My Travelled Distance Equal My Skip and Solid Metrics on the Dashboard?
Are you looking at the Dashboard and wondering why you're Yellow Skip/Solid & White Skip/Solid don't add up to the total displayed by Travelled Distance? As we talk through it in this article it will make more sense.
Now, Travelled distance in SRO just means that is how many linear feet the truck drove while painting. That said, Travelled Distance does not show you how many feet of paint was put down. That's where White Solid/Skip & Yellow Solid/Skip come into play.
First we'll breakdown the Yellow & White Skip Metric using an example. Your paint truck went 1000ft. Over that 1000ft, you were painting 10ft Skips with a 4ft break in between. Your Travelled Distance will be 1000ft but your Skip color total recognizes that as 250ft since that's how much paint was actually applied over that distance.
The same concept applies to our Yellow & White Solids. Your paint truck went another 1000 ft but this time we're putting down a double solid line (no passing lane). Your Travelled distance again will be 1000ft but you're Solid color total recognizes that as 2000ft since that's how much paint was applied over that distance.
